Sustainability is not a trend. It's a movement. A Lifestyle.
We have all been there. We tired. It's Monday. That smell of coffee coming from the coffee shop is just so good! But, you forgot your keep cup. Perhaps only once would be ok? No one will ever know...
And then you think back to The giant mass of plastic waste taking over the Caribbean!!!!
Sometimes it's overwhelming. Especially when you are trying to go plastic-free and you get something in plastic, or you get served your drink with two straws! Even when you kindly asked for no straws! (Holds head in hand)
Deep breath. Restaurants are becoming more aware; people are starting to change their attitude towards plastic. There is still hope for the penguins! While we wait for the world to catch up, we can get a bit smarter in the meantime.
I used the plastic insulation from an online food order for knee protection while gardening. 2 points!
Even better have a look at what these cool group of people are doing with flip-flops they find on the beaches! 50 points!
If you keen on making a difference but don't want to throw everything away. Don't worry. Use up all your little bits and pieces and replace it with more environmentally friendly products when you need them.
I found a lovely company called "Breakfast in a bag". They put together little toiletry bags for homeless people. I donated all my aeroplane toothbrushes and small toiletries I wasn't using. Better than going in the trash. 5 points!
Should I try and put together a point system, so you can see how green your are?
What do you think?
Well in the mean time try this, HOW BIG IS YOUR ENVIRONMENTAL FOOTPRINT?
